THE BIG STORY

Crossing The Line: CAMPUSPEAK and HazingPrevention.org’s Workshop to Eliminate Hazing

CAMPUSPEAK and HazingPrevention.Org are partnering to promote an interactive campus workshop aimed at eliminating hazing of all kinds in student organizations.

Crossing the Line brings together student leaders from a wide variety of campus organizations to address fundamental questions, like:

  • What is hazing, exactly?
  • Does our campus have a hazing problem?
  • Do student leaders have resources to help them end hazing in their organizations?
  • How does hazing hurt our campus?
  • What is the university’s commitment to ending hazing?
  • What can we do to work with our members on this issue?

HazingPrevention.Org has become the go-to organization in higher education on this important issue. Tracy Maxwell, Executive Director of HPO, was the original author of the Crossing the Line workshop when she worked at CAMPUSPEAK years ago. Now, through this promotional partnership, HPO will be actively engaged in promoting the workshop to campuses.

“Hazing is a complex problem, and ending it means a lot more than simply raising awareness of it,” said T.J. Sullivan, CEO of CAMPUSPEAK.  “People are constantly calling HazingPrevention.Org for ideas and resources to promote hazing prevention on their campuses, and it just makes sense that the workshop Tracy helped to create is part of the arsenal.”

A portion of profits from the bookings of this workshop will go to support HazingPrevention.Org and their many outstanding activities and events, including National Hazing Prevention Week.
