Create a healthy campus environment with Alcohol Awareness Programming
Preparing your students to make smart choices regarding alcohol and other popular drugs on campus is one of the best tools you can equip them with.
College is a place for education, building relationships and discovering one’s full potential, but the negative incidents of alcohol abuse continues to rise. Students have been scared, scolded and blatantly told not to drink while they’re in college. It’s these half-hearted types of messages that hold a temporary place in the minds of students, not creating a lasting change within. Education is essential to helping students understand the dangerous consequences of excessive alcohol use and to ensure a healthy environment for student growth.
Let CAMPUSPEAK be a resource to help keep your students safe this upcoming school year with our variety of alcohol awareness programming. We strive to make a difference in the lives of students, and to help lower the statistic of alcohol and drug related incidents on campuses each year.
CAMPUSPEAK offers programming from individuals who have dealt with the life altering outcomes, have witnessed first-hand mistakes and who are highly educated about the harmful effects of alcohol and other drugs abuse.
MARK STERNER knows all too well about the consequences of drunk driving. During his senior year of college, he made the choice to drive himself and friends’ home from a night of Spring Break drinking. After the accident, Mark woke to find that three of his friends were dead and that his next step in life would be prison. Mark is a great choice for opening the eyes of students to the real and life-altering consequences of drinking and driving.
ERICA UPSHAW and her brother, Joey, used the weekends to party as a release from school. One night, a combination of alcohol and drugs served as Joey’s last. After dealing with the death of her brother, Erica knew she had to make a change, not only in herself, but with the ones around her. Erica is an impactful speaker with a story. She strives to inform students across the country and has introduced the Good Samaritan Policy on numerous campuses.
BOBBY GORDON has an extensive range of knowledge in regards to alcohol, prescription drugs and party drugs. He has partnered with local and state law enforcement, federal agencies, professional organizations and communities for alcohol/other drug prevention education. Bobby will help your students find the The Right Mix in his campus alcohol program, that will reset perceptions and clarify myths regarding the body’s reaction to alcohol.
Additionally, RICK BARNES, DR. LORI HART, MIKE DILBECK, DAVID HELLSTROM and the Interactive Workshop LADDER OF RISK: CAMPUS EDITION are excellent choices for alcohol awareness weeks for their insight on how to deal with high risk drinking on college campuses. These speakers and workshops are motivating and speak to students in a way they will understand and appreciate.
Students are the number one priority—keep them safe this year by starting the conversation of alcohol awareness during first year experience, residence life or National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week programming in October.
