Bobby Gordon’s award-winning career spans 15 years in higher education as an instructor, advisor, marketing specialist, consultant and alcohol/other drug counselor.

Bobby has partnered with local and state law enforcement, federal agencies, professional organizations and communities for alcohol/other drug prevention education, and he has been a featured speaker at campuses nationwide. His keynotes and workshops typically cover drug abuse topics beyond alcohol, including ecstasy, cocaine, prescription drug abuse and rohypnol. His harm-reduction message is supported by factual, current information and relevant examples from current cultural themes.

Bobby's a genuine and brilliant speaker who visited our campus and spoke to us as a Greek Community, knowing extremely well the issues with alcohol and drug abuse that are prevalent in our organizations. His factual, direct approach and refreshing speaking style made it an enjoyable and informative event that any student could relate to.

Bobby came to our campus and I was completely riveted from the moment he began to speak. It felt like I was just sitting and having a conversation with a friend - not being lectured to. His message was real and very important, but he spoke in a way that was funny and entertaining. The way that I look at drugs and alcohol has forever been changed. I can't say enough about Bobby!

The Right Mix

Students, by and large, have grown deaf to alcohol awareness programs. They’ve been shocked. They’ve calculated blood alcohol content. They’ve been warned about sexual predators. Yet, alcohol remains the number one abused drug among college students and hundreds of students face negative consequences each year due to intoxication.

It’s difficult to find a prevention message that works, even as many misconceptions and myths about alcohol use and abuse persist. And, any relevant alcohol awareness program today needs to take into account the arrival of energy drinks as mixers, prescription drug interactions and the wide availability of drugs like Rohypnol, the “date rape” drug.

Bobby finds “The Right Mix” in his campus alcohol program, resetting perceptions and clarifying myths regarding the body’s reaction to alcohol. He enables students to make smarter decisions and healthier choices. While students consider their own behavior and norms, Bobby’s keynote infuses harm reduction and social normative messaging to combat high-risk drinking and related negative consequences.

If you need a program that hits all the right notes regarding alcohol abuse prevention, but that doesn’t insult your students’ intelligence, consider Bobby. His non-threatening, intelligent and realistic approach to these issues finds students where they are.
